Welcome to The Silver Petticoat Book Club archives, where you can find all past recommendations and picks! It’s a book club where Amber and Autumn select seasonal book recommendations focused on stories with love, Romanticism, or both.
We curate books with love stories (not necessarily romance) or books steeped in Romanticism: fantasy, fairy tales, Gothic tales, historical fiction, and imaginative storytelling. Think sweet, smart, Austenesque, and imaginative reads, from classics to debut authors, bestsellers to nostalgic favorites.
Our mission is to select books that ignite a love of reading, whether it’s a fun, sensational read or an upmarket literary novel exploring humanity’s depths.
Content Standards: All book club selections fall between 1-3 on our steaminess scale (out of 5) and typically avoid extensive gore, profanity, or explicit content. When novels contain graphic content, we provide content warnings.

Steam Level Guide:
- 1 = G-rated (Hallmark-level)
- 2 = PG/mild PG-13 (more kissing, closed-door intimacy)
- 3 = Bedroom scenes present but not explicit or frequent (focus remains on story)
