30 Awesome Episodes of The X-Files

Having just re-watched or even watched the entire X-Files series for the first time – as well as both movies, I thought it would be a perfect time to pick thirty of my favorite episodes. And I’m going to include movies as well.

The first time I saw The X-Files I was just a kid and I only watched on a periodic basis. So it’s fitting all these years later that I finally decided to watch it during the 20th Anniversary. Personally, I find the show to be even better than I remember and I loved just about every minute of it. It was hard to narrow down as I actually enjoy most of the episodes (yes even seasons 8 and 9), but this is what it came down to. At least today…

Anyway, I’m just going to jump right into it. Here it is… 30 awesome X-Files episodes (listed in the order they aired – all photo credit goes to FOX.

#5 Paper Clip

Season 3. Scully “sees” aliens.

#6 Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose

Season 3. A masterfully written and acted episode. Here, Scully saves Mulder from the killer.

Season 3. Pure psychological suspense. Will Mulder kill Scully or himself?

#8 Jose Chung’s ‘From Outer Space’

Season 3. I’ll never get over the hilarity of Mulder’s scream.

#9 Avatar

Season 3. I was drawn into the story of the romantic succubus. Plus, it was nice to see a character episode about Skinner.

#10 Herrenvolk

Season 4. Hintings of the Cigarette Smoking Man’s feelings for Mulder’s mother as he “suspiciously” has her healed for the cause.

Season 4. Even bad guys have dreams.

#12 Memento Mori

Season 4. Scully chooses to fight her cancer while Mulder gives her some comfort.
