If you were like me and you grew up in both the ‘80s and ‘90s, then you were able to appreciate the joy of watching a large variety of sitcoms from the coming of age to the very funny shows with cheesy messages or even some of the early ‘80s ones constantly playing in syndication which made for great TV watching in the middle of the night when you were bored!
I’m looking at you Charles in Charge…
Today, the sitcom has almost become a dying art form. Sure, there are still funny comedy shows out there, but all of these newer sitcoms just aren’t the same.
If you were lucky enough to grow up as a ‘90s kid, then you were able to live through the golden age of sitcoms where half-hour shows were actually magical. In fact, it wasn’t uncommon to learn many life lessons and values from a sitcom.
I know you’ve seen all those Mr. Feeny memes on Pinterest! Personally, I prefer these cheesy family comedies or bewitching coming-of-age stories to the raunchy or shallow ones often seen now.
