The moment I chose for this week actually aired months ago. But I thought it deserved a fair showing, so I’m bringing it back and giving it to you this week.

We have been watching Audrey Parker and Nathan Wuornos’s back-and-forth since the very beginning of Haven. Even when they brought in Duke Crocker to try to form a possible love triangle, I think we all knew that Audrey would ultimately choose Nathan.

When Audrey and Nathan finally confessed their love for each other at the end of last season, I thought all was finally said and done. Unfortunately, the two lovebirds are separated when Audrey dove back into the barn to try to save Haven from troubles.

As we saw at the beginning of season four, that didn’t work out so well. Haven still had the troubles, but no Audrey to fix them. Luckily for Haven, but unfortunately for Nathan, Audrey was brought back in the form of Lexi, a feisty bartender.

Nathan was not too happy about not having his Audrey back.  He wasn’t too fond of the back-talking, somewhat ditsy Lexi. And he certainly let her know it too. I have to say that at this time I was not too impressed by the sullen and pouting Nathan.

Luckily for him, Audrey simply pretends to be Lexi so that the guard won’t try to make her kill Nathan to end the trouble. However, Audrey is not the best actress since Duke figured out her real identity pretty quickly. She wasn’t able to fool Nathan for very long, either.

This brings us to our Romantic Moment of the Week: the epic kiss between Audrey and Nathan when Nathan finally realizes that Lexi is really Audrey in disguise.

I have been waiting three seasons for these two to get together, so this was a big moment for me! It started when Audrey first touched Nathan, and he realized that she was the only person he could actually feel. These two seem destined for each other. It’s almost like a fairy tale, with Audrey as savior to Nathan’s (and I guess Haven’s) damsel in distress.

When they finally kissed earlier this season I practically melted. The tension between them has been building for so long that it was wonderful to finally get that perfect moment I’d been waiting for between Nathan and Audrey. And here it is for all of you! Enjoy, and if you haven’t already watched it, be sure to catch up and see this week’s Romantic moment for yourself. It’s definitely worth it.

Nathan finally confronts Audrey about their relationship status, saying, “I want to know what we are!”

Audrey replies sadly, “Too much has happened, Nathan. We can’t be Audrey and Nathan—not anymore. We work together, and that’s it.”

Nathan glowers and stalks off, saying as he leaves, “Right, see you at work.”

After he storms out, Nathan pauses, a determined look forming, then turns around and walks back in. He approaches Audrey and says, “I don’t care who you are or what you are. I love you.”

About Rebecca Lane

Rebecca Lane grew up in the hot desert landscape of Tucson, Arizona where she decided early on she wanted to write, if only to mentally escape her blistering surroundings. She has always been enamored of the arts and literature. As a child she often wrote short stories, and rewrote the endings of novels that she simply could not abide. She received her Undergraduate degree from Sarah Lawrence College in New York, where she was lucky enough to also spend a year studying at Oxford University. While she began her journey dreaming of the day she would sing opera in a large Manhattan theater, she found in the end she could not stand waitressing and simply could not give up books and her hopes of someday writing them. She is currently working as a freelance writer/editor and earning her Masters in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University.
