Top Ten Upcoming Movies to be Thankful For

It’s that time of year when we sit around the dinner table and say what we are thankful for…family, friends, etc. Aside from life, what else can we be thankful for? I’m personally thankful for stories: Books, TV Shows, and of course movies too. So I started to think, what upcoming movies am I excited for? You know those movies that you wait anxiously to stand in line for – all to experience the magic of cinema. For this year’s Thanksgiving, I want to share with you my top ten upcoming movies I’m looking forward to. Be sure to share your own list in the comments!

Just FYI: I only picked movies with trailers or clips available, so there are several other films I’m waiting on (including Star Wars)…

 HONORABLE MENTIONS

Because there are so many promising movies to check out this year, I wanted to share a few more that didn’t make my list (either because I don’t have an opinion just yet or I ran out of space). Let me know what you think. One includes a hybrid dinosaur, one is all about old-fashioned romance in a modern setting, and the other is included because it stars Alan Rickman and Kate Winslet (Colonel Brandon and Marianne reunion!!).

#1: Old Fashioned

#2: A Little Chaos

Release Date: March 27, 2015

About Autumn Topping

In second grade, Autumn wrote her first story, “The Spinach Monster,” and hasn't stopped writing since. Intrigued by the tales her grandmother told of vampires, witches, and ghosts as a girl, she's always been drawn to the fantastic. Later, Autumn studied English and Creative Writing (continuing her love for classic literature and everything old-fashioned) and graduated with an MA in Children’s Literature and an MS in Library & Information Science from Simmons College. Currently, she co-runs this lovely site and works as a YA Librarian.

  1. Loved this entry, Autumn! ‘Pan’ and ‘Avengers’ both look like epic adventures though the latter looks darker than its predecessor and I’m SO excited about BOTH of the fairytales – Cinderella and Into the Woods. Cannot wait. 🙂

‘Madding Crowd’ looks grand as well; I liked the 90’s version so it’ll be nice to see a remake.

    • Thanks! They both do look like epic adventures, and I have to agree the latter looks darker. The villain is almost frightening… And as the biggest fairy tale lover, I am counting down the days until these movies come out!!

I saw the 90’s version of ‘Madding Crowd’ and read the book, so I am really waiting to see this adaptation and how it is interpreted. Love the cast too.
