Here at The Silver Petticoat Review, we love TV Couples. And we mean…LOVE. Since a part of our site focuses on good old-fashioned romance, we thought it would be a great opportunity to highlight our own favorite romantic TV couples in our first List!
Now we’re not going to lie, it was difficult narrowing down. In fact, if we were to create this list next week, it might change. But we spent time pondering over the many TV Couples we have enjoyed over the years and tried to pick the ones we loved the most.
Which TV Couples did we find ourselves rooting for? Which ones had a chemistry that sizzled on screen? And what relationships made our hearts go pitter-patter?
It doesn’t matter if the story only lasted 5 episodes or 100. We find that it’s the quality, not the quantity, so don’t be surprised if you find some “brief” romances included on our lists.
What we did not include were TV Couples from Mini-Series. We decided to only choose from actual TV Shows. But hey…that sounds like another list in the future.
So scroll through the different galleries to see our Top 20 TV couples (as of 2013), then let us know below in the comments what your favorites are.

The doctor and Donna were friends. Not a romantic couple
My sentiments exactly
Amber and I (Autumn) agree with you but Rebecca loved them so much as a duo that she really wanted to include the Doctor and Donna. I really love their friendship though.
Fun lists
Thanks!
Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler from Sherlock
Good choice.
I am WAY out of touch…I haven’t seen 3/4ths of these couples! Great post, though, and I have some catching up to do.
We tend to like the lesser known shows sometimes but I think you should definitely check some of them out!
Tara and Willow Buffy the Vampire Slayer Wash and Zoe Firefly Xander and Anya Buffy the Vampire Slayer…
Yep, gotta love the Joss Whedon couples!
I almost cried when I saw Bel and Freddie. WHY BBC, WHY?
They definitely shouldn’t have canceled that show. It was awesome! And I loved the relationship between Bel and Freddie.
If I were you, I’d put Ross and Rachael in No.1
Everyone has different tastes. 🙂
dexter and hanna from dexter
klaus and caroline from the vampire diaries
jon snow and ygritte from game of thrones
Great choices! 🙂
I love it you include Miranda and Gary (Miranda), and Laura and Fisher (Lark Rise to Candleford). I love them couples! But if i may add Jane and Rochester (Ruth Wilson & Toby Stephens starrer, Jane Eyre 2006) has unbelievably intense chemistry, same as Ziva and Tony (NCIS).
