Top 11 of the Best Romances New to Amazon Prime August 2018

The month of August has quite a few old favorites coming to Amazon Prime you’ll want to add to your Watchlist. But for those of you looking for something new to watch, you won’t want to miss Woman Walks Ahead, a new Agatha Christie adaptation, and season 2 of Victoria. For your viewing pleasure, I narrowed down to the 11 best romances added recently or coming soon.

So, let’s take a look at my romantic recommendations below for Amazon Prime August 2018, each with the official description, personal commentary, rating, and the Amazon Prime release date. Titles are listed in alphabetical order.

A Cinderella Story; Top 11 of the Best Romances New to Amazon Prime August 2018

Amazon Synopsis: Routinely exploited by her wicked stepmother, the downtrodden Sam Montgomery is excited about the prospect of meeting her Internet beau at the school’s Halloween dance.

Amazon Synopsis: When wealthy philanthropist, Rachel Argyll, is murdered at her family estate, her adopted son Jack is arrested for her murder. He vehemently protests his innocence and eighteen months later, the identity of the murder is thrown in doubt. Now it is up to the rest of the family to decipher a killer amongst them.

Why You Should Watch: While not technically a romance, it’s an Agatha Christie adaptation (always worth watching) sure to have Romanticism and at the least some romantic history with the characters.

Bones; Top 11 of the Best Romances New to Amazon Prime August 2018

Amazon Synopsis: When the standard methods of identifying a body simply won’t work, law enforcement turns to Dr. Temperance Brennan, a skilled forensic anthropologist with an uncanny ability to read clues left behind in a victim’s bones.

High Noon; Top 11 of the Best Romances New to Amazon Prime August 2018

Amazon Synopsis: A town Marshal, despite the disagreements of his newlywed bride and the townspeople around him, must face a gang of deadly killers alone at high noon when the gang leader, an outlaw he sent up years ago, arrives on the noon train.

Amazon Synopsis: A former student who’s now a superstar actor tells an audience of millions that Howard is gay. Poor Howard. He’s outed when he didn’t know he was in! Kevin Kline plays stunned Howard, scrambling to go forth with his wedding to devoted Emily (Joan Cusack) and doing his frantic best to assert his manliness.

The Prince and Me; Top 11 of the Best Romances New to Amazon Prime August 2018

Amazon Synopsis: At college, Paige meets Eddie, a fellow student from Denmark, whom she first dislikes but later accepts, likes, and loves; he proves to be Crown Prince Edvard. Paige follows him to Copenhagen, and he follows her back to school with a plan.

Why You Should Watch: For the romance between Claire Danes and Matt Damon in this fantastic movie!

Victoria season 2; Top 11 of the Best Romances New to Amazon Prime August 2018

Amazon Synopsis: Queen Victoria, a 19th-century heroine for our times, faces the very modern challenge of balancing a growing family with her marriage to Prince Albert and her work–all while being the ruler of the most powerful nation on earth. UK Edition.

Amazon Synopsis: Catherine Weldon, a portrait painter from 1890s Brooklyn, travels to Dakota to paint a portrait of Sitting Bull and becomes embroiled in the Lakota peoples’ struggle over the rights to their land.

Why You Should Watch: For the hinted at romance between Sitting Bull and Catherine (Jessica Chastain).

 Rated R for brief violence and language.
