Journey

It has now been a little over two years since we (Autumn, Amber, and Rebecca) first started The Silver Petticoat Review. The journey has been difficult and rewarding as we constantly strive to improve the site and become a place all of you want to return to. Starting from scratch, it’s amazing to see all of our hard work beginning to pay off. We’ve seen huge growth these last few months and more returning visitors. Many of you probably even noticed that the site slowed down and then crashed the past couple of days. The reason was high traffic. We have since migrated the site to a new server and hopefully you can click through the articles at a much faster speed.

Since we started, aside from a complete re-design, we’ve even added several writers to contribute content to the site and they have done a fabulous job thus far, don’t you think?

Recently, as we are constantly seeking to make the site better, we added an archive of our Period Drama Reviews to better help those of you looking for a good costume drama recommendation, and now do Literary Romantic Moments as well as Film and TV. But now we want to hear your thoughts, to tell us how you think we could improve the site.

Here are just a few questions we would love some answers to (and if you don’t want to answer in the comment section just send us an email.

Any other feedback and recommendations would be much appreciated and thanks again for visiting The Silver Petticoat Review!

  1. (I’ve been up for far too long, so I’m only going to answer the questions that have an immediate answer come to mind. I’m sorry that it’ll be incomplete.)

I rather like the daily updates – they give structure to my day. I know every evening about 5:00 I’ll receive an email from you. However, I am open to less frequent updates.

#4: What categories do you enjoy the most?

    Romantic Moments!

#5: How Did You First Find Our Blog?

I found your Romantic Moment of the Week: Tauriel and Kili post when I was trying to make sure I was correctly quoting “she walks in starlight in another world” on my tumblr blog, and something in that blog post’s delightful presentation, plus the charm of the name of your website convinced me to stay. 🙂

    • Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! Glad to hear you like the daily updates. We are just considering all options. A few people who unsubscribed said it was annoying, so we wanted to take the time to ask.

And we love the romantic moments too! Writing about them is so much fun, my two Tauriel and Kili posts being among my favorites. And thank you for your kind description of our blog. We really work hard on the presentation. 🙂

  2. #1: I think you already have a great balance of things.

#2: I like the Daily Digest, and honestly I’m afraid the e-mail would have too many links for me to check out if you sent it less frequently.

#3: I love it as is– I know that’s extremely unhelpful, but so it is. 🙂

#4: I especially enjoy the Romantic Moments, but I happily read everything you send out in the Digest.

#5: About a month ago I was searching for a Kili and Tauriel quote and came across the Romantic Moment on here. I started browsing and loved the site.
