Romance and Period Drama Watchlist For November 2018

A new monthly feature letting you know what to watch in the romance, Romanticism, and period drama genres. From TV to Streaming to Movie Releases and even Video On Demand.

The holiday season is soon upon us, which means TONS of new romantic Christmas movies. Starting this month, there are dozens to choose from on Hallmark, Lifetime, and even Netflix. Period drama fans can also rejoice this month as there are a few choices coming your way this November in theaters. There’s the long-anticipated sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. I don’t know about anyone else but I plan to see it the first day it’s in theaters! There’s also The Nutcracker and the Four Realms which releases nationwide tomorrow.

On the TV front, HBO premieres the new Italian period drama miniseries, My Brilliant Friend, which is based on a popular novel. And then there’s the new sci-fi series, Origin, on Youtube Premium which showcases a healthy dose of Romanticism. It comes from the producers of Lost and The Crown and includes a fabulous cast such as Tom Felton (Harry Potter films). On top of all of these highlights, there are many other great choices in theaters, on VOD, and on TV. So, enjoy the November 2018 watchlist below!

Below you’ll find watchlist highlights for premieres, standout episodes of current shows (IE: season finales), new movie releases, and new VOD for the month of November 2018. What you won’t find are all the repeats, movies on every paid cable channel (HBO, Showtime, STARZ, etc.) or streaming, and other extraneous content. This watchlist is for what’s new or a special standout in the genres of romance, Romanticism, and Period Drama! So, it’s not inclusive of everything. Schedules and release dates are subject to change.
