Top 10 of the Best Romances New to Amazon Prime September 2018

For the month of September, Amazon Prime has much to offer if you’re a fan of romance. From romantic period dramas to romantic comedies, romantic dramas, and even a couple of TV shows with a bit of romance on the side!

So, let’s take a look at my romantic recommendations below for Amazon Prime September 2018, each with the official description, rating, and the Amazon Prime release date. Titles are listed in alphabetical order. At the bottom of the list, I’ve also included romances that were recently and quietly added to Amazon Prime without any announcement. And then other bonus movies/shows coming soon that are worth checking out.

(NOTE: We aim to mostly share less explicit content that has PG-13 “like” content and below minus a few exceptions for artistic merit and/or genre interest. If a program is Rated R or TV-M, we will leave a content note to let you know the reason for the rating.)

Amazon Synopsis: While retaining her secret identity, the illustrious Mrs. Erlynne (Hunt) saves Lady Windemere (Johansson) from making a grand social faux-pas with the scoundrelly Lord Darlington (Moore).

Amazon Synopsis: A private detective hired to expose an adulterer finds himself caught up in a web of deceit, corruption, and murder.

 Rated R for violence, brief nudity, and brief strong language. A mild R rating.

Amazon Synopsis: The last dragon and a disillusioned dragonslaying knight must cooperate to stop an evil king who was given partial immortality.

Why You Should Watch: While not an actual romance, the film includes an implied romance as well as an epic bromance!

Why You Should Watch: Another fantasy movie with some romance on the side!

Amazon Synopsis: Based on Ian McEwan’s novel. In 1962 England, a young couple find their idyllic romance colliding with issues of sexual freedom and societal pressure, leading to an awkward and fateful wedding night.

 Rated R for sexual content (including implied sexual abuse) and nudity.
