What is your favorite book, movie and/or TV show?

I don’t have a single favorite, but I’m into books, movies and TV shows with fantasy elements:
Books: Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs
Movies: 5th Element, Avatar, Inception, Star Trek, Terminator, Harry Potter, Superhero movies (Xmen, Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, etc.)
TV: Lost Girl, Supernatural, Grimm, TrueBlood, etc.

What movie/TV show or book character turns you on?

TV: Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel
Movie: Sherlock (or Watson) (Downey Jr/ Law)
Book: Catwoman

What character turns you off?

Dolores Umbridge

Is there any kind of music or any songs that inspire you?

I’m listening to a lot of Lana Del Ray and Florence in the Machine these days.

Is there any movie or TV couple past or present that you obsess over?

I’ve obsessed about plenty. But my current concern is Bo and Lauren from Lost Girl.

If you could be or live as any character (book/movie/TV show) who would you choose?

I would be Dr. Who. 🙂

What are you reading and/or watching right now?

I’m reading quite a few books—bad habit—but here are a few Scientific American, Quiet: The Power of Introverts, Eleanor & Park, Doctor Sleep.

Any guilty pleasures?

I have a hellava sweet tooth.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

Crow. They are smart and live a relatively safe life.

If you could see one book adapted into a movie or TV show what would it be?

 Mine! 🙂

ABOUT Dying for a Living

Cover

“On the morning before her 67th death, it is business as usual for Jesse Sullivan: meet with the mortician, counsel soon-to-be-dead clients, and have coffee while reading the latest regeneration theory. Jesse dies for a living, literally. As a Necronite, she is one of the population’s rare 2% who can serve as a death replacement agent, dying so others don’t have to. Although each death is different, the result is the same: a life is saved, and Jesse resurrects days later with sore muscles, new scars, and another hole in her memory.

But when Jesse is murdered and becomes the sole suspect in a federal investigation, more than her freedom and sanity are at stake. She must catch the killer herself—or die trying.”

About Rebecca Lane

Rebecca Lane grew up in the hot desert landscape of Tucson, Arizona where she decided early on she wanted to write, if only to mentally escape her blistering surroundings. She has always been enamored of the arts and literature. As a child she often wrote short stories, and rewrote the endings of novels that she simply could not abide. She received her Undergraduate degree from Sarah Lawrence College in New York, where she was lucky enough to also spend a year studying at Oxford University. While she began her journey dreaming of the day she would sing opera in a large Manhattan theater, she found in the end she could not stand waitressing and simply could not give up books and her hopes of someday writing them. She is currently working as a freelance writer/editor and earning her Masters in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University.
