Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 6)

If you’re a fan of Fitz and Simmons, you won’t want to miss their epic romance continue to play out in what turned out to be an entertaining and fun season 6.

Now, if you’ve never seen this superhero series before and are looking for light entertainment with great female characters and charming TV romances, this is an excellent choice to start binge-watching. The final season premieres next year.

My Sister’s Keeper (Bonus)

Okay, so this movie isn’t a romance or a period drama, but it’s a lovely female-driven film based on a popular book. If you’re looking for a girls’ night in, you might enjoy this heartfelt drama starring Cameron Diaz.

Rebel in the Rye

Nicholas Hoult stars in this romantic period drama about the famous author, J.D. Salinger (author of Catcher in the Rye).

The Lake House

Sigh…This romantic time-travel film stars Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves and is absolutely lovely. Plus, if you’re a Jane Austen fan, you’ll enjoy the numerous Persuasion references used throughout the movie.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers AND The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

The Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies based on Tolkien’s wonderful fantasy novels are some of the best films ever made. These fantasy costume dramas have romance and Romanticism aplenty and shouldn’t be missed. They also can be watched time and time again. So, enjoy it!

The Saint

Val Kilmer is at his best in this fun romantic action-adventure full of suspense. He plays the lovable thief, Simon Templar, who falls in love with the scientist, Dr. Emma Russell (Elisabeth Shue). If you enjoy lovable bad boys, this is the movie for you.
