Marrying Mr. Darcy (2018)

Why You Should Watch: It’s a feel-good sequel to Unleashing Mr. Darcy. If you love Hallmark movies, you’ll likely enjoy this one.

Metropolitan (1990)

Pride and Prejudice (1940)

Why You Should Watch: While the adaptation makes a few major departures from the book, this is a hilarious classic film worth watching.

Pride and Prejudice (1995)

Amazon Synopsis: This is the definitive Pride and Prejudice and the most successful TV period drama ever. Starring Colin Firth, Jennifer Ehle and a fabulous supporting cast, this BBC/A&E co-production pulsates with energy as lively, witty Elizabeth Bennet charms smouldering, haughty Darcy against a backdrop of a picture postcard countryside, small-town assembly rooms and stately English homes.

Pride and Prejudice (2005)

Why You Should Watch: While the debate of which adaptation is the best (this one or the ’95 adaptation) rages on, I choose to love them equally for different reasons. This adaptation uses artistic cinematography, a gorgeous score, color schemes, etc. to help tell the story visually.

On the other hand, the ’95 adaptation focuses on presenting a close reading of Jane Austen’s novel. Both visions work. So, watch this one to appreciate Joe Wright’s visual artistry.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016)

Amazon Synopsis: Elizabeth Bennet a master of martial arts, and Mr. Darcy, a fierce zombie killer, must swallow their pride in order to conquer the undead.

Why You Should Watch: It’s fun and entertaining, not to mention romantic.

Scents and Sensibility (2010)

Can the sisters find a balance between relying on their hearts and using good sense without losing everything they hold dear?

Why You Should Watch: If you’re looking for a bit of light escapism, then this is a good choice. 

Sense and Sensibility (1995)

Amazon Synopsis: Emma Thompson stars in the captivating romance based on Jane Austen’s classic novel of two sisters’ search for love in strict Victorian society.

Why You Should Watch: It’s an overall gem and one of the best Jane Austen adaptations ever made.

Sense and Sensibility (2008)

Amazon Synopsis: Marianne Dashwood wears her heart on her sleeve when she falls in love with the charming but unsuitable John Willoughby, ignoring her sister Elinor’s warnings. Elinor struggles to conceal her own romantic disappointment. Will the sisters learn that sense must mix with sensibility if they are to find personal happiness in a society where status and money govern the rules of love?
