If you haven’t caught onto the Korean Drama bandwagon yet, you’re in for a treat! There is something special and unique about Korean Dramas. From the family-friendly content of most shows (so no explicit content) to the fabulous writing and characterization, the unabashedly romantic quality, the creative fantasies and even to the abundant happy endings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Not to mention, the binge-worthy quality of just about every series! Plus, you never have to worry about a lack of an ending as each series is only one season. So, no permanent cliffhangers from prematurely canceled shows…
While there are a few places to dip your toes into K-Drama, one of the most popular places to watch is Dramafever. An inexpensive streaming-video subscription service that specializes in Korean Film & TV.
So, if you’re looking for a few feel-good shows you can watch with the whole family this holiday season, here are four awesome choices to add to your wish list and watchlist! You won’t be disappointed…
Official Synopsis: “The American remake of this excellent Korean drama is winning audiences with its inspirational portrayal of a young surgeon with Savant syndrome. Jon Won stars as the savant pediatric doctor, Park Shi On, who struggles to succeed in a competitive “adult” world where everyone is at least emotionally and mentally 20 years older than he is. The Korean original is just as Good, and the American series’ audience will really enjoy it.”
Why You Should Watch: If you’re enjoying the American remake of the series on ABC, then you’ll love the heartwarming original. With wonderful acting and a beautiful story, you’ll love this wonderfully written character drama.
Official Synopsis: “In this comedic tale of riches to rags, Byun Hyuk (Choi Si Won, She Was Pretty) is the narcissistic and carefree heir to Gangsu Group, but also a die-hard romantic who chooses the ordinary life after meeting the girl of his dreams. Byun Hyuk is a very handsome, very privileged, completely oblivious young man who decides to see if he can make it in a “normal” neighborhood where no one knows who he is. There he meets a hard working young woman struggling to survive, with a strong sense of social justice… and sparks fly.”
Why You Should Watch: This new romantic series stars Choi Si Won, a Korean actor with charisma and charm who will steal your heart with each performance! Plus, this new series is a fantastic example of why Korean Dramas do romance better than just about everyone else.
#3 The Package
Official Synopsis: “Beautifully shot romance about a group of strangers on a package tour of Paris. As the group gets to know each other, secrets are revealed and romance blossoms.”
Why You Should Watch: This hilarious new series is the perfect series to watch for anyone with wanderlust! If you love France, travel, and romance, this is the series for you.
Official Synopsis: “A fabled “goblin” attempts to end his life by marrying a human priestess, but things get complicated when he starts to actually fall for her, and in turn, finds a new reason for wanting to stay alive.”
Why You Should Watch: One of my favorite series in the past few years, Goblin: The Lonely and Great God, became a cultural phenomenon last year after it premiered. With a fantastic cast, memorable characters, wonderful writing, and one of the best bromances to ever be on TV, you won’t want to miss this wonderful series. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll fall in love with this modern day fairy-tale.
