Whenever I travel, I love to research and explore literary locations. Whether it’s the home of a classic novelist or a location made famous in a fictional novel or even a fun place to visit like an amusement park. There is something about travel and stories that make the perfect companions. So, I’ve compiled a list (by all means, not a comprehensive one) of 15 must-see travel destinations in the United States for book lovers.

Sometimes the literary history of the U.S. is overlooked by its UK and European counterparts – even by me. But the United States has a rich literary history and many fantastic destinations to travel to.

So without further ado, here are 15 of the best.
