Autumn Topping

So we thought we’d break the ice and take The Petticoat Personality Test first for everyone to get to know us here at The Silver Petticoat Review a little bit better. First up is Autumn, co-founder of Silver Petticoat.

What is your favorite book, movie, and/or TV show?

My favorite book would have to be a close tie between Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Emily of New Moon (along with its two sequels) by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

My favorite movie is too hard and definitely depends on my mood, but one of my biggest comfort films is Mansfield Park (the one with Jonny Lee Miller).

For the TV show, probably Road to Avonlea, Doctor Who, and Moonlight. As of what is on right now, I love The Paradise and The Hour.

What movie/TV show or book character turns you on?

Too many to count because I love fictional men. The Doctor definitely turns me on, but I also have a soft spot for Ned in Pushing Daisies because he is so sweet and adorable.

Also, Mick St. John is highly attractive to me. Book characters that turn me on would have to be Mr. Darcy, Captain Wentworth, and Faramir because of their pure goodness.

Then, of course, there is Lancelot from the television series Merlin. He is just so sweet in that adaptation of the story.

What character turns you off?

Any character with crude humor or is extremely immature.

Is there any kind of music or any songs that inspire you?

I’ve always loved listening to all things Michael Jackson but songs that inspire me while writing and video editing have to be extremely emotional and epic, so I love songs with a build-up. I also love epic movie themes. And Within Temptation definitely inspires my writing.

Is there any movie or TV couple past or present that you obsess over?

Of course! The Doctor and Rose and Mick and Beth are my biggest obsessions though for years I was really into Chloe and Clark (that dissipated towards the end of Smallville).

If you could be or live as any character (book/movie/TV show), who would you choose?

I would love to be Hermione in Harry Potter just because she is already A LOT like me, but she can also do spells. I would love to be able to do magic though I’m not sure Ron is really my type.

And then I would also want to be Rose Tyler so I could travel with the Doctor, though I wouldn’t exactly want to get stuck in a parallel universe…

What are you reading and/or watching right now?

I’m watching series 3 of Luther (what an amazing show), and I’m re-reading Rebecca, another of my favorite books of all time.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Watching endless shows on Netflix…

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

I would be a unicorn if they existed. I relate to these shy creatures.

If you could see one book adapted into a movie or TV show what would it be? I want all my favorite books to be adapted into a film, but I would really love for Emily of New Moon to be turned into a mini-series. I wasn’t too thrilled by that odd TV adaptation years back.
