Amber, co-founder and Editor, takes the Petticoat Personality Test (in 2013).

What is your favorite book, movie, and/or TV show?

I’m torn between Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Persuasion by Jane Austen. I love them both equally. I also love everything written by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

As for movies, I’d have to go with the Anne of Green Gables/Avonlea miniseries. They’re my comfort films.

TV Shows come down to four…They are Road to Avonlea, Moonlight, The X-Files, and the new Doctor Who.

What movie/TV show or book character turns you on?

I tend to like intelligent or witty guys who are loyal, impassioned, and fun in real life, so that seeps over into my character crushes.

Of course, there’s always Mr. Darcy. But besides that, I love The Doctor, Luke from Gilmore Girls. Maybe Nick Cutter from Primeval (scientific geniuses are a total turn-on for me). I also really like Captain Wentworth and my absolute two favorites…Gilbert Blythe and Fox Mulder!

What character turns you off?

Mr. Collins! Or basically any of those man-child characters with no ambition.

Is there any kind of music or any songs that inspire you?

There’s never any one type of music that inspires me. The right song seems to find me when I’m looking for inspiration. Right now, I love the song “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons.

Is there any movie or TV couple past or present that you obsess over?

Mick and Beth; The Doctor and Rose. I LOVE Scully and Mulder. I also really love Anne and Gilbert.

If you could be or live as any character (book/movie/TV show), who would you choose?

Maybe Rose Tyler. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of time travel and traveling around with a scientific, romantic genius while also helping and saving the world is pretty hard to top.

I also wouldn’t mind being Scully even though she went through a lot. It’d be worth it because of Mulder and the excitement that goes with him.

What are you reading and/or watching right now?

I’m re-reading Villette by Charlotte Bronte. Also right now, I’m watching The Killing and The X-Files (on Netflix). I just finished The Hour. It was amazing.

Any guilty pleasures?

I’m sure a lot of what I watch many people would consider guilty pleasures.  I just don’t feel guilty about it!

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

A wild horse running free.

If you could see one book adapted into a movie or TV show what would it be?

I would love to see The Witch of Blackbird Pond turned into a movie. That was one of my favorite books growing up.

I even cast out the whole movie in my mind. My choices would be too old now, though, but somehow I always saw Elijah Wood as Nat with Anna Paquin as Kit.

      • Don’t get me wrong I love Darcy, BUT I just love Captain Wentworth more. 🙂 He’s so focused, almost Byronic in some ways. “Persuasion” is my favorite Jane Austen.
